The land of Michigan has given the world a deluge of multiple necessities and sheer pleasures outside of what at one time was the auto industry mecca. Like its heart and soul of the blue collared working person that breeds an indelible, almost pioneer spirit, the music from here reflects its surroundings as once again this 26th state, added to the Union in January of 1837, is having a rebirth. The possibility of this land known warmly for its industrial explosion in the region of the Great Lakes is now standing at possibly a new dawn... the creation of being a strong contender for the music scene, much like Nashville is today.

With this in mind, the resonating rock and blues plus more yet to be revealed have begun with the band, Greta Van Fleet. They are poised and ready to bring the elements of rock n' roll up to the next level.

Interview with Christopher Dean – Passionate Guitarist, Compassionate Mentor

Carox Rox recently got to interview with Jersey-based Rock / Metal multi-Instrumentalist Christopher Dean (former Michale Graves, Darkness Descends, Alyxx) on tour with The Guitar Collective 2018 with Angel Vivaldi and Nita Strauss (Alice Cooper, The Iron Maidens, Femme Fatale) and Jacky Vincent. The tour made a stop at the Scout Bar in Houston, TX on Wednesday, December 12th. Carox:How did you get on this tour? Christopher: The biggest reason I am here is that I have been friends with Angel for fifteen years. I, him and his other guitar player have all been playing in the same New Jersey scene for years and we have played a lot of the same shows together. I have toured a decent amount around the country a few times and because of my experience and my work ethic and being close friends with Angel, I had this opportunity to come on tour. Basically, he assembled Nita’s guitar player and the bass player…because she was coming over here on tour with him and she was over on the West Coast…

BANGS!: Talk about how music has influenced you as an individual in your daily living.
Music has an impact on everyone--it's immediate accessibility now really has solidified the idea of having a "soundtrack to our lives." Music is a healer, an escape, a release, a memory, a significant moment...so, as far as it's influence on daily living really can depend on what you're listening to; it really depends on your mood it seems.

BANGS!: Where do you find yourself listening to music most often?
It seems that the car is where listening to music happens the most--sometimes it can be background, or it is filling the time. Also, listening to records when cleaning the house? Vacuuming always goes by faster with good jams.

BANGS!: What are your favorite brands to use when it comes to the instruments, mics, amps, pedals and so on? Why do you favor them?
