Up Close & Personal with Sam Kiszka of Greta Van Fleet

The land of Michigan has given the world a deluge of multiple necessities and sheer pleasures outside of what at one time was the auto industry mecca. Like its heart and soul of the blue collared working person that breeds an indelible, almost pioneer spirit, the music from here reflects its surroundings as once again this 26th state, added to the Union in January of 1837, is having a rebirth. The possibility of this land known warmly for its industrial explosion in the region of the Great Lakes is now standing at possibly a new dawn... the creation of being a strong contender for the music scene, much like Nashville is today.

With this in mind, the resonating rock and blues plus more yet to be revealed have begun with the band, Greta Van Fleet. They are poised and ready to bring the elements of rock n' roll up to the next level.

Concert Review: Albuquerque’s Moonlight Lounge hosts killer CD release party

On February 16, Albuquerque’s Moonlight Lounge opened its doors to a flurry of hardcore metalheads, each one of them ready to celebrate the sophomore release of Fallen Prophets’ sophomore album, titled Void of Eternal Desolation. On hand for this celebration were the following bands: Scarlet Empyrean, Viperwitch, Impaled Offering, and Suspended. Headlining this killer event was Fallen Prophets.

Located at 122 Central Avenue in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Moonlight Lounge is a chill and intimate place, which on concert nights pulls back the tables and chairs that occupy the bulk of the bar to create a solid stage complete with a loud sound-system and a minimal light show. On this night, the crowd was relatively thin at first, but by show time the place was packed, with scores of black t-shirts and pants fading into the darkness.

Album Review: As Within, So Without 'Into Oblivion'

Formed in the belly of Port Chester, New York, in late 2016, As Within, So Without taunts the mood of metalcore. Their debut EP, titled Our Self-Destruction was released in 2017 and soon came their stage time supporting groups such as Upon a Burning Body, Phinehas, and Slaughter to Prevail along the east coast. When As Within, So Without returned to the studio, they decided to take their collective and create their debut album Into Oblivion. A progressive return to the depths of metalcore that sends a combative thrash mixed with melodic rock and the two-part vocals common to metalcore and nu-metal genres of today. What they have managed though to do is to meld a creative style that designates them to be their own.
