Concert Review: 10 Years in the Black Tour
Asking Alexandria, Born of Osiris, I See Stars, After The Burial,
Upon A Burning Body, Bad Omens

The Metalcore fans of Asking Alexandria packed the Livewire Az venue on a Tuesday night, December 6, 2016 to help Sumerian Records celebrate their 10th Anniversary. The 10 Years in the Black Tour featured some of the bands that have helped establish Sumerian as a major metal record label over their decade of business.

Asking Alexandria, the headliner of the tour, shared the stage with Born of Osiris, I See Stars, After The Burial, Upon A Burning Body and Bad Omens to celebrate one last night before heading back across the pond on their worldwide tour. Each and every band presented a gusto of metal shards that cut through the audience as the crowd roared for more. The venue was packed from back to front and all along the upper balcony. Sumerian Records had placed all the right things together for a tour that stated- METAL!

This tour was even extra special for fans as it was the first tour with the return of vocalist Danny Worsnop. Although Worsnop’s departure was brief, the fans genuinely showed how greatly he was missed, as when he appeared on stage, the roar from the fans was almost deafening. Of course throughout the evening Worsnop played to the audience and shared stories along the road with the fans in between songs like, “Dear Insanity,” “Run Free,” “Moving On,” and “A Prophecy.”
The elation each band member of Asking Alexandria presented on stage was extraordinary, you could sense they were all having a great time performing with each other again. The fans fed off of this energy as they moshed through the night, bodies surfing along the tops of hands held high in a sea of chanting for Worsnop between songs and singing along to every song performed. As the night came to a close, the band ended their set with “The Final Episode (Let’s Change The Channel)”, and “A Single Moment of Sincerity.'
What an ending to the tour for the states, and a send off to the rest of the metalcore world to enjoy well into April of 2017.
