With a New Year, New Line-Up, New Material, and tours to be booked... ATT is ready for 2019 to bring it on!
BANGS!: Talk about how music has influenced you as an individual in your daily livingNikki Buttigieg: Life without music would be very different for us. All of us grew up with earphones in our ears 24/7.
Music has always been there for us in the good times and in the hard times and it shaped us to the guys we are today. It is the go-to for every experience we are going through as it is a way to let loose and be yourself. It is also a source of inspiration and motivation for us, especially as musicians.
BANGS!: Where do you find yourself listening to music most often?
Nikki Buttigieg: Literally everywhere! Of course, I guess mostly whilst driving or when we're chilling at home.
Gabriel (Chippy): I try to have some background music on during all my endeavors, be it at work, driving, playing video games or reading. I find myself listening intently to music the most when driving through.
BANGS!: What are your favorite brands to use when it comes to the instruments, mics, amps, pedals and so on? Why do you favor them?
Danny: Tama Superstar Hyper-Drive, Sabian Cymbals, Speed Cobra double pedal.
Kyle: Laney Ironheart, BOSS GT-100 pedal, 7 string Ibanez.
Nikki: Peavey 6505+, Ibanez 7 string.
Chippy: Gallien-Krueger 700RB Bass Head, 2x Gallien Krueger NEO410/8 Cabs, Ibanez BTB1605 5 string Bass.
BANGS!: Talk about your current project. It's conception. How it evolved. The storyline behind its development or any anecdotes that may have occurred during the writing/recording process?
Nikki Buttigieg: Our latest release 'Dead Religion' is an album in which you can hear our journey as a band as individual musicians evolve and grow into an interesting sound which makes Nikki Buttigieg Align the Tide what it is. Danny and Kyle have known each other for years and they are confident with each others playing and songwriting. Chippy and Nikki are newcomers and this sparked a fresh start to the ideas and playing to Align the Tide which created 'Dead Religion' as it is.
BANGS!: Is there a particular part you enjoy more than another in the process of a project?
Nikki Buttigieg: There is no greater feeling than hearing the finished and polished product for the first time. It gives you a sense of accomplishment after all the hard work you put in it and you realize how much you have learned and grown along the way.
BANGS!: How do you know when a song is done and ready to be taken to the recording studio and produced?
Nikki Buttigieg: If you think too much about a track, you will never be happy with your product. We play and write what we feel like at the moment and fix a few things here by jamming together.
BANGS!: Looking towards the short and long term of where you might be currently- where do you see yourself (yourselves) as an artist/band in 2019 and beyond?
Nikki Buttigieg: We are looking to tour as much as possible and hopefully later on this year, we will also release our second album. So stay tuned for more!
