Holiday Fun with Katie Knipp

Santa and Hanukkah Harry: So have you been good this year? Now be honest we do have our list.

Katie Knipp:  Naughty as hell in my head.  Ha!

S/HH: You had set out at the first of 2019 to accomplish certain things for your music. Hows that been going?

Katie Knipp:  Swimmingly.  Better than expected.  Was signed by Marin Artist Agency, got some super dreamy gigs, started recording my 6th album and the band is so fantastic that I can't even believe I get to be in their presence.  I am going to The 62nd Grammy Awards.  Made it onto the first ballot for a consideration of a nomination in Traditional Blues Album, but did not get the nomination.  To be on that ballot as an independent artist was an honor.

S/HH: Enough shop talk. Let's get into the holiday mood. Favorite holiday movie?

Katie Knipp:  watching "Elf" right now.  I adore "Love Actually" as well.

S/HH: Do you have a particular food or dish that you like to consume or fix and bring to a gathering? Feel free to share your recipe.

Katie Knipp:  Honestly just gimmie all the cheese and wine.  I keep it simple.  Don't give me the Sees Nuts and Chews or I will consume it all and then be bloated onstage,

S/HH: What are some of your favorite holiday memories?

Katie Knipp:  I would say having my first born 10 days before Christmas 2014, also ringing in The 2011 New Year in the lightly snowing streets of Dublin Ireland.  Wow.

S/HH: Holiday traditions?

Katie Knipp:  Seeing The Nutcracker ballet, and this will be the first time we take our kiddos (3 and 5 years old), baking cookies while watching The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show (I believe they are cancelling it this year which makes me all kinds of upset), seeing the local Christmas lights with the kids in the wagon, hosting all the holidays for the family.

S/HH: Lets test your knowledge. How many reindeer are there and what are their names?

Katie Knipp:  Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner Blitzen and...Rudolph!  8!

S/HH: Hannukah is also known as the "?"

Katie Knipp:  Festival of Lights

S/HH: Are you into snow sports during the winter months or if you are down under summer sports during the winter months? What are they?

Katie Knipp:  I am a downhill skier but have not been skiing in about a decade.

S/HH: Weirdest kiss you ever gave or received under the mistletoe was with who?

Katie Knipp:  I don't think I have ever kissed anyone except my husband under mistletoe.

S/HH: Eggnog?

Katie Knipp:  Bottoms up!  But gimmie the light version since I'm watching my girlish figure.

S/HH: If you could give the world one gift that would last a lifetime what would you give?

Katie Knipp:  Peace and love.

S/HH: Favorite holiday song?

Katie Knipp:  All the Brian Setzer stuff.  And then, the most hilarious thing I have heard, every year is just as funny as the last, "Sexy Santa" by Steel Panther.  OMG go listen to that RIGHT NOW.

S/HH: Do you have a song by you and your band? Would you please share where we can hear it?

Katie Knipp:  I have not written a Christmas song yet, but you will be the first to know when I do.

S/HH: What would you like to say in this final holiday chat to your fans?

Katie Knipp:  Buy local, give music lessons gift certificates to folks, and always choose experiences over material possessions, like tickets to concerts, amusement parks, trips, etc..  Make memories!
