Saul Treno: Let's reflect a bit. You have had quite a year as a new artist, haven't you? Natalie Dean: This year has sure been unpredictable for us all. Thankfully, it has given me personally a chance to slow down and really reflect on my goals as a new artist. I now have an even greater understanding of where I want to be this time next year and how I plan to get there. ST: Anything during this year that has particularly stood out to you and life, how about to the music industry and where you fit in? Natalie Dean: Before the world took a turn back in March, I was a senior in high school with the plan of heading straight to university in London to study music. Ray Carlson: Please introduce each member of the band. (The Northmen) Jeremy Lawlor- lead vocals/rhythm guitar Matthew Gregory- drums Brendan (The Kyd) Laverty- bass/vocals Alix Beitz- lead guitar Ray Carlson: Where did everyone grow up? Jeremy Lawlor: I was born and lived the majority of my formative years in a very rural area called Lorraine, NY- but I still went to school in Watertown where I eventually moved as a young teenager. That’s also where Matthew and Brendan grew up (Watertown) directly across the street from one another. Alix grew up in another very small town even farther to the north called Malone, NY. Ray Carlson: At what age did each of you pick up a musical instrument? What instrument did you each learn first? Jeremy Lawlor: Alix was given a crash course in guitar at about 7 by his uncle- but hadn’t regularly practiced an instrument until he took piano lessons at 8.
